From the creation of Superman to Maus and The Rabbi’s Cat, Jews have played a fundamental role in the comics industry and Jewish themes have come up in the most unlikely of places. This lecture highlights 80 years of comic book history and the impact of Judaism upon it.
Make your own comic book page! Participants will receive sheets of drawing vellum, pencils and markers, as personal narratives will be explored. No art experience necessary!
Presenter: Joel Silverstein in conjunction with his exhibit Superheroes, Autobiography & Religion.
