Falk’s series brings attention to the ideal of unconditional love as a basic human value and furthers the concept of the importance of a harmonious relationship between ourselves and the natural world. The Song of Songs is an emphatic confirmation that unconditional love can be a holistic path to healing our world. With the The Songs use of metaphor and symbolism to create an idealization of harmony, Falk was inspired to create his own interpretation and motifs to express his vision of the poem.
The exhibition will also feature works based on The Song of Songs by fellow Jewish Art Salon member, Leah Caroline, and the February 15 reception will feature a discussion on the subject by the two artists. The exhibition will also feature etchings by Falk based on The Book of Ruth.
