Solo exhibition by Tanya Fredman at the Jerusalem Theater, through November 12.

The exhibit features vibrant African fabric collages, sculpted paintings and paper-cut mobiles which reflect Fredman’s experience teaching art in Rwanda, working with Ethiopian Israeli youth, and relating to diverse cultures through dance and movement.

Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, Fredman studied Studio Art at Brandeis University and has lived in Rwanda and New York City. In 2014 she completed her Postgraduate Studies in Visual Art at HaMidrasha School of Art, Israel. She currently lives in Pardes Chana, Israel and and works in Kibbutz Ein Shemer.
“I believe that by encountering others’ differences, we expand, redefine, and enrich our sense of being. My art explores connections between different types of people that lead to a richer co-existence and to a more profound self-understanding.”
