A timely and educational exhibit featuring illustrations on the history of anti-Semitism recently opened at the Jewish Museum of Florida-FIU.
This exhibit, “Mark Podwal: All This Has Come Upon Us…,” is on view through March 13, 2016 at the museum, 301 Washington Ave. in Miami Beach.
Podwal is an artist, author and illustrator best known for his drawings on The New York Times op-ed page. The exhibit features his drawings and paintings of historical threats of anti-Semitism, combined with verses from the Book of Psalms. It is on display locally at a time when the topic of anti-Semitism seems relevant considering the recent incidents of anti-Semitic acts throughout Europe and the United States, including Florida.
“There’s been a rise of anti-Semitism in Europe and there’s been a rise of anti-Semitism on college campuses in the United States and this exhibition shows there’s a long history of anti-Semitism and what it led to,” Podwal said.
