#PlusLight, curated by Tobi Kahn – on CBS Television

You are invited to participate!

Now in its sePlusLightcond year, #PlusLight is a virtual project conceived by artist Tobi Kahn to focus on seeing light in everyday life, and sharing light and hope in the face of the daunting realities of our time. Inspired by Chanukah, the global community is invited to use this hashtag as a way of documenting the light we see in the world during the holiday season.

The program appeared on CBS NY news this past Friday. View it here.

With the help of the JCC Manhattan, BBYO, Jewish Art Salon and many other arts and school initiatives, they garnered almost 1,000 photos in the last two weeks.

Until December 31st, besides bringing light to the darkest time of the year, every twenty posts on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook means a book donated to JCC Manhattan’s Gift of Literacy early intervention program for second graders.  You just need to have a public social media account, meaning anyone needs to be able to see your posts — something few people do on Facebook although it’s common on Twitter and Instagram — for the JCC to be able to aggregate the pictures on http://www.jccmanhattan.org/pluslight/.
