Midwest Jewish Arts Lab Exhibits at Spertus Institute, Chicago

Jewish Art Salon members Gabriella Boros, Ellen Holtzblatt and Judith Joseph  will exhibit work in Voices of Wisdom, the inaugural exhibition of the Spertus Institute’s new Ground Level Arts Lab.   This exhibit will feature new works from twelve distinguished local Jewish artists, including Melanie Dankowicz, Susan Dickman, Berit Engen, Jonathan Franklin, Stephen Levin, Carol Neiger, Dimitri Pavlotsky and Amy Reichert.

September 25, 2016 – March 19, 2017.

Spertus Institute, 610 S. Michigan Ave., Chicago, IL

Opening Reception:  Sunday, September 25, 2016, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

The works were created in conjunction with a year-long initiative called the Midwest Jewish Artists Lab, in which Spertus brought the artists together for conversation, critiques, and community-building. The artists were provided opportunities to study art from the Spertus collections, as well as learn from historians, art scholars, and experts in a range of related fields.

Chicago-based art critic and professor James Yood will lead a lively panel discussion featuring several participating artists.

This event is free, but an RSVP is required.
