Experiential Jewish Educators (Part-time) in Boston

JCC BostonThe Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston (JCC) seeks experiential educators for The Discovery Club, a new program starting in January 2017.  The Discovery Club connects children ages 5-8 to Jewish life and culture through a variety of fun, skill-building classes and activities.  By exploring topics like cooking, music, and nature, children can learn about aspects of Jewish life, such as the calendar and holidays, while being guided by Jewish values and principles.  Educators will lead a 1 or 1 ½ hour, weekly course for either 5-6 or 7-8 year-olds at or near the Leventhal-Sidman JCC in Newton for 10 weeks.

Classes will meet after school or on weekend days, with a goal of providing flexible options for families.  We are looking for experienced, talented individuals who are passionate about their topic or skill, can help children make connections between Jewish life and the world around them, and are willing to be both teachers and role models.

Compensation: This is a stipend position.  You should expect about a 3 hour commitment per week (including prep, set-up, teaching, and clean-up).  Candidates must be reliable and available to work after school hours and/or on weekend days.

To Apply: Please submit a resume and paragraph of interest to discoveryclub@
, and you will be contacted to discuss next steps.  Qualified candidates will be asked to submit a course proposal.
