Artist Statement:

“I study world iconic forms such as temples, altars and observatories. They influence me by both modern and ancient works. The layers of meaning in the work are meant to be engaging, contemplative and curious.

I create works in iron, bronze and aluminum using drawings and computer imagery to explore my ideas. These works are not meant as studies for larger sculptures. Larger works add construction for large creative explorations.

Every sculpture is a process of discovery that starts with reference to some idea that may morph into another a number of times, often resulting in a new image.

My public art works have been fabricated and installed across the US and in Europe. My sculptures have been in more than 300 exhibition in the U.S., Europe, Africa and Asia. I am the recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Award and a Fulbright Grant, among many other prizes and awards.”
