Shavuot is known as the Feast of Weeks in English. It is a Jewish holiday that occurs on the sixth day of the Hebrew month of Sivan, which this year starts on Saturday night.
It commemorates the anniversary of the day God gave the Torah to the entire nation of Israel assembled at Mount Sinai.
The holiday is one of the three Biblical pilgrimage festivals. It marks the conclusion of the Counting of the Omer, and its date is directly linked to that of Passover.

Ruth Schreiber created an art installation “Balfour at 100”, which was featured at the @jerusalembiennale 2017, in an exhibit curated by Ram Ozeri. The Balfour Declaration was a public statement issued by the British government during World War I announcing support for the establishment of a “national home for the Jewish people”, precursor to the establishment of the state of Israel.
