Urban Adamah, a Jewish community farm in Berkeley, CA, is seeking an artist (or two) to design and install two pieces of complementary art for its formal entrance-way and welcome center. The goal of these pieces is to inform visitors about its core values and to express appreciation for contributors to the farm.

Installation complete: March 1, 2018. Date flexible if dry weather is needed for creation and/or installation.

Stipend available + some funds available for fabrication and installation of the art.
The art will complement the existing aesthetics of the site and further develop the motifs and “language” of the site. The art must be highly durable outside and easily withstand both water and intense sun
Urban Adamah (Adamah = Earth in Hebrew) is an educational farm and community center in Berkeley that integrates the practices of Jewish tradition, sustainable agriculture, mindfulness and social action to build loving, just and sustainable communities. Urban Adamah (UA) offers a wide range of programs for children, adults, and families, reaching over 10,000 participants annually.
UA has built a new, permanent campus at Harrison and Sixth Street in West Berkeley. The campus includes a variety of growing areas for annual and perennial crops as well as facilities (by end of year these will include an administration building, yurt, teaching kitchen, fellows residence, bathhouse and program tents).
