Meet Susan Schwalb

Every week we will introduce a person who makes a difference in the Jewish Art Salon. We start off with one of our most accomplished artists, Susan Schwalb, who is an advisor on our Steering Committee.

Susan is one of the foremost figures in the revival of the ancient technique of silverpoint drawing in America.

She has had over 50 solo exhibitions nationally and internationally and her work is in major museums such as Museum of Modern Art, New York, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the National Gallery, Washington DC, The British Museum, London, The Brooklyn Museum, NY, Kupferstichkabinett – Staatliche Museen zu Berlin, Germany, Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and The Ashmolean Museum, Oxford, England.

She recently co-authored “Silverpoint and Metalpoint: A Complete Guide to the Medium”, published in 2019 by Routledge/Focal Press, UK and US.
