About Richard McBee
Richard McBee is a painter of Biblical subject matter and writer on Jewish Art.
Since 2000 he has written on the Jewish Arts for the Jewish Press and other publications, and continues to exhibit paintings, lecture and curate Jewish art exhibitions.
The subjects of his paintings have included: Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Hagar, Jacob, Joseph & Potiphar’s Wife, Judah & Tamar, Moses, Exodus, Children of Israel in the Desert, Pinchas, Ruth, David, Ezekiel, Holocaust.
He is founding member of the Jewish Art Salon, and frequently curates exhibits, such as The Dura Europos Project, Dimensions of Spirituality: Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Passover and The Consequences of Freedom. He will lead the Jewish Art Salon latest program, the JAS Artists Beit Midrash in Manhattan.

About David Wander
David Wander is an artist and a story teller. He has been working for over forty years interpreting and reinterpreting Jewish folk tales, megillot, and biblical stories in a visual midrash format. Trained as a print maker and storyboard artist he draws images he imagines from the reading of the texts. He works alone and in the Hevrousa style with study partner Professor David Kraemer of the Jewish theological seminary in New York.
His Haggadah in Memory of the Holocaust was shown in a one man show at Yad Vashem and published in German and shown through Humbolt University in Berlin. He has shown at Mobia museum, Temple Emmanuel museum, The Jewish theological seminary, and Hebrew Union college in New York.
He has drawn The five Megillot, the book of Yonah a fifty foot drawing in 13 panels. The five books of David each book running 30 feet in an accordion book format. He drew the story of the Golem in Prague. He has also draw from Jewish Hasidic legends and folk tales. He has recently finished the story of Bunsha Sweig.

About Rich Black
Rick Black is an award-winning book artist and poet. His artist books are represented in private and public collections, including the Library of Congress, Yale University and the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.
He received a B.A. from NYU and did post-graduate work in Hebrew literature at Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He has studied at both the Center for Book Arts in New York and Pyramid Atlantic in Maryland. In 2019, he received the 2019 Isaac Anolic Jewish Book Arts
Award.
He will have a booth at the Manhattan Fine Press Book Fair on Sat., March 7th, 10 – 5 pm, Church of St. Vincent Ferrer, 869 Lexington Ave. at 66th St. NYC.
A journalist for many years, Mr. Black worked overseas for three years in the Jerusalem bureau of The New York Times. While he enjoyed reporting, he was intent on pursuing his love of literature and books. After studying at the Center for Book Arts in New York City, he founded
his own imprint, Turtle Light Press. It specializes in artist books and prints, haiku titles, and digital photography.
In 2017, Mr. Black completed The Amichai Windows, a ten-year project of translation, research, design, letterpress printing and hand bookbinding. A collection of 18 poems by renown Israeli poet Yehuda Amichai, The Amichai Windows opens a window onto love, war, and being Jewish today. Multi-layered collages play off each of the Amichai poems by combining archival photos of Jewish life with gold leaf embellishments, blind embossments and botanical tip-ons.
Aside from book art, Mr. Black’s own poetry collection, Star of David, won Poetica Magazine’s 2012 poetry chapbook contest for contemporary Jewish writing. It was named one of the best
poetry books by Split This Rock in 2013. A reading of Star of David was held in the Middle Eastern & African Division of the Library of Congress. Mr. Black has also garnered several international awards for his haiku poetry. His poems and translations have appeared in The Atlanta Review, Midstream, U.S. 1 Worksheets, Frogpond, Cricket, RawNervz, Blithe Spirit, Still, and other journals. A New Jersey native, Mr. Black now lives in Arlington, Virginia, with his wife and daughter.

Cant’ wait to hear both of these guys! They each have a distinctive voice about their own work and about Jewish Art in general!
That would be great Dorit! After this one we are doing one mid June, followed by another one in the Summer.
Maybe someday I’ll join a NYC Salon session. I think it’s great you are doing it!
