About the Artists:
Linda Lieff Altabef was born and raised in the United States and immigrated to Israel in 2009. She has degrees from Pratt Institute and Hartford Art School and studied with Roman Vishniac and Daniel Maloney. Early on, Linda designed textiles for companies such as Anne Klein and Calvin Klein. She has exhibited her art in galleries and museums in the U.S. and Israel, including Tova Osman Art Gallery, Jerusalem Municipal Art Gallery, Terry Dintenfass Gallery, Tibor De Nagy Gallery, and The Brooklyn Museum, and her work is in many private collections in the USA, Europe, and Israel. www.lindalieffaltabef.com/
Shoshannah Brombacher is an author/artist/researcher/scholar and maggidah (story teller) from Amsterdam with a Ph.D. in medieval Hebrew poetry. She researched/taught in Holland, Israel, Germany and New York, illustrates, paints, curates and exhibits. From early on, her art is inspired by the the Chassidic Masters, but also social justice, poetry and travels. She published several books. In the early spring of 2020, as the impact of the COVID19 pandemic began to be recognized, the Jewish Art Salon was uniquely positioned as the world’s largest Jewish visual arts organization, with a global network of contemporary artists, curators, art historians and art writers, to pivot its programming to premiere live-streamed, online Studio Salon Sessions. Now into it’s second year, OPEN STUDIOS continues to present artists from the United States, Israel and Europe in real time, showing and discussing their work
The Jewish Art Salon (JAS) is a 501.c.3 non-profit organization. It is a global network of contemporary visual artists and art professionals. Established in 2008 and based in New York City, JAS has over 400 members and over 2,000 participants. Through its 60+ shows, events and collaborations in the US, Europe and Israel, JAS has reached approximately 30,000 individuals since its inception. JAS provides important programs and resources, and develops lasting partnerships with the international art community and the general public.
