Sukkot is a time to feel at one with nature. The design of this sukkah juxtaposes elements of different scale, with the shape and shadow modifying each other to form an eloquent assembly.
This Sukkah, IMKHA, by renowned artist Tobi Kahn, is an installation consisting of 13 interrelated sculpted painted wooden panels, constituting a single work of art.
Each panel is 8 ft high x 3 ft. wide. When installed as a Sukkah, the overall size of the installation is 8 ft. high x 9 ft. wide x 12 ft. deep with a central opening on the 9 ft. side 8 ft. high by 3 ft. wide. This will serve as the entrance and exit to the Sukkah.

When not being used as a Sukkah, the panels will be installed as an art installation on the walls throughout the Marlene Myerson JCC of Manhattan’s 7th floor. Eight of the panels will be in the meditation/yoga room, creating a feeling of serenity and diversity. The remaining 5 panels will be installed on the walls of the JCC’s 7th floor. Nothing can be added to or removed from these 13 interrelated panels.
