Call for Art: Veiling and Revealing: The Face Masks of the Torah

This is a third party call for art, not a Jewish Art Salon event.

Online exhibition and fundraiser auction for Hazon, hosted by the Harlem Moishe House in partnership with Yeshivat Chovevei Torah.

The event will bring together acclaimed musicians, poets and artists to depict the Jewish theme of veiling and revealing through their own artistic takes.

Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM EST

Theme: Veiling and Revealing: The Face Masks of the Torah.

The art guidelines are open for interpretation, whether it be through a biblical narrative in which veiling or revealing is a prominent feature, or it be a depiction of a more contemporary outlook of hiding behind masked identities or face masking in corona. The artistic exploration must be explored through a Jewish lens.

There is no fee to apply.

Selected artists will have their work auctioned; 50% of proceeds will go to Hazon and 50% to the artists.

All artists will be compensated $75 minimum on top of the auction.

The main purpose for the event is to provide a platform for the artists to talk about their work. Artists who only want to present their work can opt out of the auction component, and they will still be compensated for their time.

The event takes place Saturday, February 27th at 7 pm EST.
