Call for Sculpture Exhibit in Tucson, AZ

Application Deadline May 27th

The Tucson Jewish Community Center (the Tucson J) is accepting applications for SCULPT: A Celebration of Sculpture, an annual sculpture exhibition. SCULPT showcases local work in a variety of mediums, including bronze, copper, stainless steel, aluminum, granite, sterling silver, ceramic, fused glass, beadwork, and mixed media.

The application can be found at this link: Artist Application. If a new work will be fabricated for the exhibition, images of the design and/or maquettes must be included, but please note that we reserve the right to decline the work if it is not yet completed at the time of application. There are no entry or jury fees.

INDOORS IN THE J’S FINE ART GALLERY

The J’s Fine Art Gallery is home to a rotating showcase of fine art from local, national, and international artists, August through April. A public space, the Gallery welcomes thousands of people each week. This space has pedestals, a wall-hanging system, a locked display case, and floor standing.

Pieces may be submitted to the Fine Arts Gallery for inclusion during the run of the show, August 14th through September 14th. There is no honorarium for pieces shown indoors.

Sculptural pieces will be available for sale with 65% commission to the artist and 35% commission to the Tucson J. Artists may submit up to three entries. All indoor sculptures must be for sale and remain on-site for the duration of the exhibition unless sold during this period.

OUTDOORS IN THE JILL ROSENZWEIG MEMORIAL SCULPTURE GARDEN

The Jill Rosenzweig Memorial Sculpture Garden was established in 2009 over four spacious acres with a four-fold purpose in mind: to craft a public space that celebrates the appreciation of sculpture; to create an atmosphere of tranquility; to promote educational opportunities; and to enhance community fellowship. Today, the garden holds over 40 sculptures by local, national, and international sculptors, ranging from a few feet tall to over 40 feet in a serene, beautiful setting, providing a meditative environment within the city limits.

If a large-scale, outdoor installation is selected for inclusion, the artist will receive a $500 honorarium regardless of the number of pieces accepted. Accepted pieces must remain at the J for a minimum of one year or until sold. If sold, the artist will have the opportunity to present a replacement piece.

Applications should indicate if sculpture(s) have any special requirements regarding installation or maintenance.

ELIGIBILITY

This opportunity is open to all artists. We feature the work of both established and emerging artists and welcome work in a variety of styles. Work need not have a religious or spiritual theme.
