The triptych portrays past and current anti-Semitism in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
During World War II, the city’s center experienced the roundup of 80% of its Jewish population, in the Hollandsche Schouwburg, a predominantly Jewish theater, where the Nazis gathered Jews to be deported to the death camps.
At the present time, the Dutch Jewish community is experiencing anti-Semitic vandalism and attacks on individuals, especially those wearing Star of David jewelry or kippot (skullcaps) .

The triptych addresses this resurgence of anti-Semitism. Its outer panels depict Dutch Jews being rounded up for deportation in the 1940s. The patterns of colored triangles refer to the Nazi camps markings of Jews, gypsies, political prisoners, etc. The center panel features a row of yarmulkes, “forbidden” items.
.
The artwork presents additional embedded images and sounds for an immersive experience. An iPad will be provided at the opening for the viewer to trigger the videos and photos hidden in the work: focusing on certain areas in the canvasses, images will appear that depict the former Jewish life in Amsterdam. .
Sounds are provided by Dan Schwartz, who composed an oboe concert mixed with recorded street sounds at three major Jewish spots: the Hollandsche Schouwburg, the Portuguese synagogue, and the statue of a dock worker, a symbol of Dutch Resistance in World War II. .

The exhibition, Through Compassionate Eyes; Artists Call for Animal Rights, addresses the theme of animal rights as an issue of social justice.
Not all of the artists are Jewish, nor were all of the works created with an intent to specifically address Jewish themes. However, the exhibition was conceived to show that there is a demonstrably powerful connection between Jewish texts and the connected topics of Ecology, Animal Cruelty and veganism. .

Help me get to know my art by allowing me to see it through your eyes." Viewers responses ranged from the sukkah being a space of self reflection to the similarities and differences of humanity to not judging a book by it's cover and on.
On the last page was the title and explanation.
Concept: The adage “room in the heart, room in the home” has perhaps no space more ideal than the sukkah. One of the mystical concepts of Sukkot is the ‘Ushpizin”, spiritual guests that we invite each night along with physical guests which we are always encouraged to bring in. The more, the merrier. All of sukkot in about opening our homes and hearts and celebrating together. .

The concept of this Sukkah is sometimes we think we don’t have enough to do what we want, i.e “I don’t have room/money to have guests”. However, when we commit to an idea, doing whatever we can, with whatever means we have, we will find that our world opens up. However unlikely it seems, anything is possible. On the outside, this sukkah might seem makeshift and small but I open my heart and invite you in to experience how when there’s room in the heart, there’s room in the home.

Artist statement: "I loved the pageantry and whimsy of this photo. It truly captured the gratitude and abundance that I was aiming for. These little flags took a relatively short period of time to felt, as opposed to the figures, which were a real technical challenge - hand cutting the figures from one piece of felt and keeping them straight and equidistant from the ones above and below, keeping the fragile mesh from ripping - plus making sure that each panel had 9 figures and their hands met at the corners . Every piece of felt that was attached to a material, whether it was the mesh or other felt, used a felting machine to adhere. There was no glue and no sewing involved. The sheer amount of time it took was ridiculous, but I learned so much from this challenge that I will incorporate into my artmaking process". .

The Kissing-Sukkah / Ronit Levin Delgado.
An interactive art installation and a durational performance by the artist, where she invites everyone to participate (all genders, ages, races..) to join her and add a kiss with the chosen lipstick hanging in the entrance of the Sukkah. "Together, through a performative act of collaboratively kissing the Sukkah, under the pillar of cloud, we add more layers of ourselves, layers of love and we kiss the Sukkah to its existence, building it together from the beginning to end.
The audience is not just the viewer, but becomes the performer as well as an necessary active player, collaborator, neighbor, friend. Each viewer leaves behind a kiss, a memory, a trace, a gift, connecting both with the Sukkah and the community.

Artist statement: Traditionally, we think of the Neilah Service at the end of Yom Kippur as a time when the heavenly gates are ‘closing.’ This painting represents the idea that the strength of our Kavana, the intensity of our prayers, can not only open the gates but can increase the flow of Kedusha and Bracha (holiness and blessing) from above. The drips in the painting represent the ‘KAV’ (lines/streams) going up and down, internal and external, trying to bridge the abyss to allow us to be the vessel to receive the Holiness and Blessing and become ONE with HaKadosh Baruch Hu.
