Archie Rand depicts seventeen assertive biblical women through intriguing, vivid imagery derived from comics and pulp magazines, children’s book illustrations, classic American and Italian films, and other visual precedents.
This is the American debut of works produced for the 2024 Jerusalem Biennale, themed “Iron Flock” (Tzon Barzel in Hebrew), celebrating women’s roles in Judaism.
