Born in 1988, and based in New York City, Sarah Zell Young is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and received her MFA from Hunter College. Young has exhibited extensively in a solo show at Brandies University and part of group exhibitions at Leslie Heller, Exit Art ,The Chataqua Institute and Brown University among others.
Awards and prizes include
The AJWS Global Social Justice Fellowship – 2013-2014, Asylum Arts Artist Development Grant- 2014, Graf Travel Award from Hunter College- 2012 The Fischl/Kohn Family Stipend for the Rafael Schachter Institute for the Arts and Humanities- 2011, The Judy and Arthur Zankel MFA Award in Art, Hunter College-2011, Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture Award-2010, Excellence in Sculpture Award, Rhode Island school of design-2011 and Bertha Anolic Memorial Award-2009.
