Artist’s Description:
Sukkot is part of my “Ritual Series” of collage work depicting ways my family celebrates Jewish Festivals and holidays or life-cycle events. Using paper cutouts with drawings reveal our family Sukkah in Upstate New York where its open roof, the Schach, uses corn stalks from nearby farms. My father-in-law, of blessed memory, would join us for evening dinners, perhaps when the full moon was out, with us all sitting among the four patriarchs who might have come to visit us.
