Biography:
As a sculptor, Suzanne Horwitz has produced a diverse and extensive body of work, with pieces ranging from jewelry and intimate portraits to large room sized installations and public sculpture. The impetus for her work is driven by the love of form. Horwitz’s works earned numerous awards, and have been exhibited in various venues including; Montclair Art Museum, University of Wisconsin, Valparasio University, and Krasl Art Center.
In Chicago-land, Horwitz exhibited at Chicago Cultural Center, Swedish American Museum, Bridgeport Art Center and Evanston Art Center. Her work is in the collections of The Options Clearing Corporation, Chicago, Goldman Sachs, New York, plus private collections.
In 2017 she was selected to be a Fellow of the Covenant at The Spertus Museum of Jewish Learning in Chicago, Illinois. Horwitz is on the faculty of The Art Center of Highland Park, IL. She received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Michigan, studied drawing and sculpture at the Art Students League of New York, and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
