Leah Caroline was born in 1977 in Brooklyn, NY and currently lives and works in New Haven, CT. She received her BFA from Lyme Academy College of Fine Arts in Old Lyme, Connecticut. Caroline has been included in exhibitions in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Philadelphia.
Caroline has written and illustrated for Chabad.org. She is the co-founder and artist teacher of the Connecticut Artists’ Beit Midrash and leads art workshops.
Caroline has received awards, commissions, and residencies, including the Weir Farm Artist in Residence in Wilton, CT, and a commission by Artspace Inc. for site-responsive work for City Wide Open Studios in New Haven, CT.
Selected solo exhibitions include
“Spring Awaking,” April 2014, at the Joseph Slifka Center for Jewish Life at Yale, New Haven, CT; and “I have come to my garden,” January 2014, at Hadas Gallery, Brooklyn, NY.
Selected group exhibitions include
“L/Inked,” MAPSpace: miranda arts project space, Port chester, NY; “On the Spiritual in Art,” Perspectives Gallery at the Whitney Center, Hamden, CT; “Art of the Northeast,” Silvermine Arts Center, New Canaan, CT, juried by Andrew Russeth; and “The New Scroll,” New Jersey Arts Guild, Rahway, NJ (all 2014).
