Short bio:
American-born Israeli painter Ruth Kestenbaum Ben-Dov lives and works in Eshchar, a small hilltop community in the Galilee. Observation of reality, in particular landscape and the body, is the foundation for her complex works which explore identity and faith and often relate to ancient Jewish texts. Her work is in private collections in Israel, Europe, and the United States.
