Born in 1943. Based in New York City. Her photography mentors included André Kertész, Garry Winogrand, Roy DeCarava and Helen Gee.
Tell’s photography has been featured in exhibitions in New York City, San Francisco, Fort Lauderdale and New Orleans.
Awards
Susan May Tell was awarded First Place in “Photowork ’09” by Malcolm Daniel, Curator in Charge, Department of Photographs, Metropolitan Museum of Art (2009).
In 2009 she received awards from Lucie International Photography, Prix de la Photographie and London Creative.
Tell’s Catalog of Works was acquired by Columbia University’s Academic Commons Center for Digital Research and Scholarship (2014).
