PROSPECTUS

Newly established in 2019, the Grants are meant to recognize, validate and honor our member artists and artisans whose works embody the highest creative standards in their genre and exemplify the best of Contemporary Jewish Art and Object being created today.  The Guild intended to help our membership achieve its goals by offering some measure of financial support.

The grant process is open only to current Members of the American Guild of Judaic Art.

Artists may apply as an individual or as a collaboration.

For more information about the AGJA or to become a member please go to: www.jewishart.org.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY?

All members of the American Guild of Judaic Art are eligible to apply.  Artist members must be actively working in their field and/or exhibiting their work in professional artistic or commercial venues.

WHAT THE GRANT COVERS

The grant can be used to help with the costs of a project such as (but not limited to) purchasing supplies; securing a venue for an exhibition, community event, class or workshop; participation in a trade show or convention (as a vendor only); printing catalogs, books, brochures, postcards or other promotional and educational materials connected with the project; or other types of marketing initiatives.  The “what” is entirely up to you. The Guild requires that your project either helps to advance and promote your own work and that of Contemporary Jewish Art and Object, or provide educational opportunity in a positive and creative way.

GRANT RESTRICTIONS

The AGJA will not accept applications from non-members.

The AGJA grants are not intended to fund the artist’s academic study or pay tuition, course fees, workshop fees or costs, past debts, legal fees, moving expenses, personal travel or the costs of installations, commissions or projects commissioned by others.

Members are invited to submit proposals each funding cycle (once a year).  Award recipients must wait at least 12 months from the end of their grant period to reapply.
