We were honored with a very special visit on June 27th. Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt, Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism, came to view the “Artists on Antisemitism” exhibition, a collaboration between 81 Leonard Gallery and the Jewish Art Salon.
Richard McBee wrote: “This exhibit is a courageous artistic proclamation attacking an insidious cancer growing in the midst of New York’s cultural capital. Each artwork says, Never Again!”
The ambassador’s portrait by Isaac Ben Aharon is featured in the exhibition. She told us “You are doing important work”.
Present at the meeting were Nancy and Larry Pantirer, owners of the gallery, Yona Verwer, Founding Director of the Jewish Art Salon, Hannah Rothbard, gallery director, and Ayelet Allen, the artists daughter-in-law, representing Isaac ben Aharon.
