The Heller Museum, the Jewish Art Salon and the Jerusalem Biennale proudly present a preview of two J.A.S. events at the Jerusalem Biennale Fall 2026:
Discussion with renowned art historian Matthew Baigell about his latest publication Heritage: Jewish Artists in America since 1900.
Featuring Baigell in conversation with Jewish Art Salon artists Siona Benjamin, Tobi Kahn, Lenore Mizrahi-Cohen, Archie Rand, Joel Silverstein, Yona Verwer, and David Wander.
Heritage: Jewish Artists in America since 1900 by Matthew Baigell (Syracuse University Press) traces a century of artistic genius, from Mark Rothko’s ethereal abstractions to Max Weber’s bold modernism, rooted in Eastern European immigrant dreams, moral fire, and unyielding cultural threads. It redefines American art history by centering Jewish voices that refused to fade into the background.
Akeidah Alone: Where is the Lamb? features six recent paintings on the Akeida by Richard McBee which will represent the Jewish Art Salon’s entry into the Jerusalem Biennale, now rescheduled for Fall 2026.
