The Jewish Art Salon’s latest exhibit, “Through Compassionate Eyes: Artists Call for Animal Rights,” will be seen for the first time when it opens Sunday, October 7, at the Charter Oak Cultural Center in Hartford, CT.
A PANEL DISCUSSION will take place Oct. 7 at 3 PM.

Exhibit curators Julie Seidman and Joel Silverstein; Jewish Veg Executive Director Jeffrey Cohan, and artists Dorit Jordan and Diana Kurz.

This is believed to be the first time artists have come together to produce a major exhibit on the intersection of animal rights and Judaism.
The opening is scheduled for Sunday, October 7, with a reception starting at 1:30 p.m. and a panel discussion at 3 p.m.

This exhibition is a unique event in that it addresses aesthetic, scientific, social and religious concerns in a new paradigm of creativity for the 21st Century.
The exhibition “Through Compassionate Eyes: Artists Call for Animal Rights” begins a dialogue that urges the viewer to deeper levels of social thought and action. Never has there been an exhibition before tying together art, ethics and religion for this expressed purpose, offering a unique way of highlighting these concepts. It demonstrates that Individuals can make positive changes in their lives, offering the distinctive practical application of healing the world, every day of the year.
The exhibit will run through Friday, Nov. 2. The Charter Oak Cultural Center, the exhibit’s host, is open Mondays through Fridays from 10 am to 5 pm. The exhibit is presented by The Jewish Art Salon and Jewish Veg, as part of Charter Oak’s Annual Celebration of Jewish Arts and Culture.
