Ken_GoldmanGoldman, born in the USA, moved to Kibbutz Shluchot in Beit She’an in 1985.

His art is in the collection of Mishkan LeOmanut, Ein Harod Israel, and the Wolfson Museum in Jerusalem.

Goldman participated in The Jerusalem Biennale 2013 and 2015. An exhibit of his work, curated by Tobi Kahn, was shown at the Tisch Gallery at the Manhattan JCC in 2014. Goldman’s 2014 interview by Yona Verwer in Zeek Magazine can be found here.

His Jewish-themed work is filled with insider references, innuendos and humor. While seemingly irreverent the works are inspired by and react to traditional texts, traditions, services, holidays and stories. The art projects a sense of familiarity – a sense of being an active part of the ‘family / club’ – a closeness that allows him to reevaluate, reinvent and take liberties with the role, purpose and form of traditional Judaica.
