28 May to 22 August, 2015 (weekdays to 5pm; Fri to 3pm; Tues by appt)
Susan Turner, a Canadian artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba, exhibits FRAGMENTS, a series of inkjet prints based on Jewish ceremonial fabrics.
The work explores intersections between representation and abstraction in order to create mysterious spaces where interiors and exteriors collide. The source for each print is an image of a recognizable object (the tallit, the parochet, and the fringes that adorn them) that is then altered, twisted, and arced through digital means. Turner also works in book-arts and video
Conversations with the artist at BEKI: Saturday August 22nd, 2015, 12:45 pm
