Jewish Art Salon’s Founding Member, Richard McBee, has collaborated with Rabbi Richard Borah to create a new book. Creativity and the Jewish Soul – An Exploration of the Book of Genesis, provides Torah commentary, poetry and original paintings that relate to the place of creativity in Jewish life and practice.
Drawing on ideas from scholars such as the Rambam, Rashi and Rabbi Soloveitchik, poetry from a broad spectrum including Yehuda HaLevi to Robert Frost and Rilke and contemporary paintings by Richard McBee, this text provides a unique exploration of creativity and art from a Torah perspective.
A discussion with art, poetry and pizza by the authors takes place Tuesday January 10, 2017, 7-8:30 pm
Sixth Street Community Synagogue, 325 E 6th St, New York, New York 10003
The book is available here.
