PAST X FUTURE: Friends of Tsedek’s Art Auction & Cocktail Party

Through an evening dedicated to collaborative effort, aesthetic passion and inspiration to give, Friends of Tsedek invites you to take a journey through time.

In partnership with Bnai Zion Foundation, Friends of Tsedek invites the public to
its First Annual Art Auction & Cocktail Party, PAST X FUTURE, on September 7th, 2016 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea, New York.

Proceeds from this event will benefit therapeutic art, music, and literacy programming for over 250 at-risk children living in the Ahava Village in Israel. The Ahava Village, a subsidiary of the Bnai Zion Foundation, is a full-time residential center that specializes in working with highly at-risk youth, many of whom have been sexually and domestically abused.

A true embodiment of the PAST X FUTURE theme, the artworks on display will cover ideas ranging from the Impressionist era to modern day street art. The event will also showcase and auction works by the likes of Bradley Hart, Jane Dickson, Faith Ringgold, Romare Bearden and many others. Amongst the most prominent pieces being sold are Robert Whitman’s early portraits of legendary pop icon Prince—works that have been credited with launching both artists’ careers.

Pioneering the art of the future, the event will also boast never before seen integrations of art and technology. In partnership with DeathlessVR, Artists Misha Tyutyunik, known as the mastermind behind New York City’s largest urban mural, and Tripp Derrick Barnes, known as the founder of Pop Neoism, will be collaborating to create a virtual reality gallery using Google’s highly anticipated VR art program, Tiltbrush, which allows users to paint in a three-dimensional space of their own making.

Participating Jewish Art Salon artists: Siona Benjamin, Lenore Cohen, Carolina Karpati, Batya F. Kuncman, Michal Nachmany.
