Jewish Art Salon invites you to the next live session of our successful online series,
AFTER THE FLOOD: ReGENESIS.
Join the Jewish Art Salon as we continue a dialogue, investigating the artistic process behind the work of contemporary artists.
In this session, curated by Dorit Jordan Dotan and Judith Joseph, we will be joined by artists Igal Permuth, Judith Joseph and Harriet Finck. They explore the process of re-creation, the deposits and richness of creativity that emerge from desolation and despair.
In addition to the curators, this program is produced with the support of Jewish Art Salon’s Program Advisor Yona Verwer and team members Cheselyn Amato and Chana Wiesenthal-Elias.

About the Artists
Judith Joseph is a Chicago based artist whose work is exhibited internationally. Her work is idea-driven, and she works across media, chiefly woodblock prints, painting and installation. Her conceptual art practice is paired with work as a calligrapher and illustrator, and her specialty is the Ketubah. She has had numerous solo and two-person shows including the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Kraft Center at Columbia University, ARC Gallery, Chicago and the Illinois Arts Council Gallery in Chicago. Igal Permuth is a Guatemalan Jewish artist with a 30-year-old artistic journey, with exhibits around the world; in Latin America, Europe and Israel. He always had to “communicate himself through Art” and let it speak about him and about its nature. He also had a TV art program called El Vagon; to Igal, Art has a human nature and is organic. It speaks and explains the viewers about anything that awakes his creative process; therefore, it is applicable to any cultural human group. Harriet Finck is a NJ based artist. After practicing as an architect for several years, she turned to collage and painting. An adjunct professor for a time, she teaches at an art center, and was involved in running an Artists’ Beit Midrash.Harriet’s artist residencies include the Boston University Hillel, William Paterson University, Art Kibbutz and Camp Ramah. She has had solo and duo shows at galleries in New York and New Jersey, and many group exhibitions. Her work is in corporate collections. Her studio is in Manufacturers Village, East Orange, NJ. In the early spring of 2020, as the impact of the COVID19 pandemic began to be recognized, the Jewish Art Salon was uniquely positioned as the world’s largest Jewish visual arts organization, with a global network of contemporary artists, curators, art historians and art writers, to pivot its programming to premiere live-streamed, online Studio Salon Sessions . Now into it’s second year, OPEN STUDIOS continues to present artists from the United States, Israel and Europe in real time, showing and discussing their work.
