Artist Membership

Submissions for Artist Membership will be vetted on rolling basis.

We are a collective of accomplished, established scholars and artists who exhibit at galleries and museums worldwide.

The Jewish Art Salon is committed to give exposure to the work of Jewish Artists with the highest level of quality and innovation. Professional accomplished artists will be vetted based on their CV and the breadth and quality of their art.

Please note that we are primarily focused on fine art, not Judaica ritual objects or traditional art. View our slide show on the home page or our Fellows page to get an idea of our criteria.

Artist categories:

Fellows, Associates and Friends

Upon reviewing the submitted materials we will invite you for a specific category, based on the breadth and quality of your work and your resume.

Fellows – Very accomplished; extensive resume.

Associates – Fairly accomplished.

Friends – Artists with a limited resume.

Emerging Artist

Needs to have graduated university within the past five years.

Art Professionals – Scholars, Curators, etc. Open for applications starting September, 2024.

Professional development – Member events and networking.

Opportunities –

1. Eligibility to submit your work to be considered for our exhibitions and art events. Participation in our exhibitions is entirely up to that particular curator. Submissions of artworks do not guarantee inclusion.

2. Members are eligible for referrals to museums, curators and collectors, whenever we get a request for art that fits your work.

3. In addition to our own exhibits, we have assisted with both NY-based and out-of-town artists’ work being exhibited at the Y.U. Museum, New York, NY, Mizel Museum, Denver CO; The New Museum, NYC; Philadelphia Museum of Jewish Art; Reginald Lewis Museum, Baltimore MD; Stanback Museum, Synagogue for the Arts, NYC; the Educational Alliance, NYC; the Museum of Imajewnation, the Westchester JCC, Pratt Center’s Hadas Gallery, Brooklyn NY; BEKI, New Haven CT; the Center for Jewish Arts & Literacy, Blank Rome, Philadelphia; Vivant Art, Philadelphia; Industry City Gallery, Brooklyn, Sid Jacobson JCC, Vancouver JCC & others.

4. We help many artists get published in the press, both online and hard copy. Publications have included Bar-Ilan Journal of Jewish Art, Art Criticism, Image Magazine, Sh’ma Journal, NY Jewish Week, Jerusalem Post, Jewish Press, Haaretz, Zeek, Lilith Magazine, CCAR Journal: The Reform Jewish Quarterly (Arts Issue), Queens Journal of Jewish Studies, Jewish Currents, Jewish Exponent, Jewish Standard & more.

New applications are reviewed once every 4-6 weeks.

Accepted New York area artists will be required to attend at least two in-person events and one zoom meeting per year.

Non-NY artists are required to attend at least one zoom meeting a year.

Membership fees are accepted only with Paypal’s recurring Yearly payments feature. You are free to cancel anytime. Once your Paypal subscription is canceled or suspended, your membership cannot be reinstated. So please keep your Paypal or CC info current to avoid accidental cancellation.
