Orly Benun is a photographer with a unique gift for making the ordinary magnificent. Often pictured at work and play in more elemental or natural settings, her subjects connect with her camera to create an instant bond.
Each picture’s composition combines light, color and surroundings in a way that captures subtleties of emotion and seems to remove the weight of time. The playfulness of her camera offers little adventures in trust; each subject shows a permission to become art.
Orly Benun was born in Israel and moved to New York City in 1989. She attended The School of Visual Arts and The International Center of Photography and has been taking photographs since 1990. She specializes in photojournalism, travel and landscape photography.
